Lenten Journey Through Sacred Scripture with Fr. Azam
The season of Lent invites the community of believers to deepen their devotional life through daily Bible readings and liturgical celebrations. During these forty days, we are encouraged to return to the roots of Christianity, which involves studying Sacred Scripture to encounter Christ. As St. Jerome, a Church Father and Doctor of the Church, once said, “To be ignorant of Scripture is to be ignorant of Christ.” With this in mind, our four-week Lenten Bible Study is designed for Christians to journey through the Sacred Scripture with the writings of the spiritual masters and church fathers. This journey aims to prepare us for the glorious solemnity of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The study will cover various themes, including:
1. Getting ready for the Battle / Ministry
2. Original Sin or Temptation
3. Growing in Prayer
4. Growing in Devotional Life / Christian Virtues
The four-week, 2 hour sessions begin on Saturday, February 14th at 1:30pm in the Parish Center.
Bring your Bible and let's learn together!
Suggested donation of $25 for the four-week series.
