St. Mary, Star of the Sea Parish is offer- ing the opportunity to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Qualifications for Extraordinary Ministers include a person who has received the sacraments of Baptism, Penance, Communion, and Confirmation. Many people who did not think they would be comfortable serving at the Altar, changed their mind once they had begun to help distribute the Sacred Body and Precious Blood of Christ at Mass. Many express a joy that they had never before experienced at Mass once they became a Eucharistic Minister.
A Liturgical Minister Formation Workshop will be offered at the Diocesan Pastoral Center on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 6:30-9 PM. Please call the Parish Office to set up an appointment with a priest to discuss this ministry and complete forms for the training. Don’t delay, as we need to send the forms to the Diocese by Feb 11. Please give prayerful consideration to offering your service to our Parish Ministry—the rewards are ‘Heavenly’!
