Ushers are called upon to provide the very special service of hospitality. They greet and welcome, along with the Greeters, those who come to participate in the Celebration of the Eucharist. They also help handicapped or latecomers in finding a place to sit. In addition, they also take up the collection, choose who takes up the Gifts at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist, direct the congregation as they line up to receive the Body and Blood of Christ, and distribute parish bulletins after Mass. Training is provided.
Ushers arrive twenty minutes before Mass begins to assist the congregation in finding seats, and stay through the Mass to lead the collection and provide support where needed.
Ministry Leader: OPEN – the lead position in this ministry is currently open. If you are interested in becoming an usher, please speak to the sacristan at the Mass you regularly attend for more information.
