Welcome to St. Mary, Star of the Sea
Roman Catholic Church

We are located in beautiful Oceanside, California in northern coastal San Diego County. This historic Catholic Church dates back to 1927. When you walk inside you will enjoy the Spanish Revival style architecture, designed by Los Angeles architect Emmet G. Martin. Look up to enjoy the intrinsic details of this church including the beautiful carved rafters and the stained glass windows. Step out the front of the Church on Pierview Way to see the famous Oceanside Pier, the longest wooden pier on the Pacific Coast.

St. Mary Star of the Sea has a diverse multi-cultural congregation. Including our Military families from nearby Camp Pendelton Marine Corps Base. St. Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church welcomes everyone to participate in our Christian services. The calendar page has all events and mass times available. Please like us on Facebook to share with friends, family and visitors.

We are in the year of faith our prayer is: Credo, Domine, Adauge Nobis Fidem
translated means: I believe, Lord, increase our Faith

This website has been prepared to help acquaint you with our Parish and to welcome you to attend one of our many servies. We welcome your participation at Mass and other religious

Exploring Your Catholic Faith

Becoming a Catholic
Rcia - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The RCIA is the way that people join the Catholic Church. Whether a person has been baptized in another faith, or they are unbaptized, this process leads them to full initiation in the Church. This is a year-round process at St. Mary’s, so if you know anyone who might want to become Catholic or if you have been waiting for the right opportunity for yourself, call Patty Mann at the parish office and chat with her about the possibilities. You can start on this path at any time.

St. Mary Star of the Sea Parochial School
Preschool
Age Three through Pre-Kindergarten

At St. Mary’s we believe that each child is a unique creation of God. A balanced program of child-centered and teacher-directed activities provide our children opportunities to enjoy the freedom and responsibility of choice. Through their play, they explore a safe, loving environment and are given the gift of time to experiment, discover, and think.

St. Mary’s staff of caring professional teachers offer an activity-centered, hands-on, academic curriculum designed to create a solid foundation of pre-kindergarten skills.

Elementary
Kindergarten through Grade Eight

St. Mary, Star of the Sea School provides a climate where students can experience their faith, meet academic challenges, and establish life goals. Our students are fully prepared to successfully continue their education once they graduate from St. Mary’s.

It is the ultimate goal of our fully accredited faculty and extremely dedicated staff to assist our students in their journey of reaching their lifelong dreams.
